On project level:
  • CESSP evaluation: BNC has conducted an impact evaluation study of the CESSP scholarship program of the World Bank, which aimed at getting girls into school. For this assignment, we have conducted school monitoring surveys, a school baseline assessment, several household surveys and a scholarship applicant assessment (PPVT, math test and self assessment).
  • ECD baseline study: In 2008 and early 2009, BNC collected baseline data for Impact Evaluation of the Early Child Development program in Cambodia. About 5600 rural households, most of them depending on agriculture, divided among many provinces have been interviewed and their children from 36 months to 59 months have conducted a Child Development Test (TVIP, WJ, ASQ). In 2010, a follow-up study for this has been conducted by BNC.
On policy level:
  • Public Expenditure Tracking Survey: In 2005-2006, BNC conducted an extensive Public Expenditure Tracking Survey for the Cambodian health sector. The objective of this survey was to determine the main issues regarding public finance and to assess the scale of funds reaching the referral hospitals and public health centers. Both qualitative and quantitative data was collected and a national survey was implemented in 17 provinces throughout Cambodia. Interviews were conducted with director and staff of provincial health departments, operational districts and health facilities. This survey was funded by the World Bank. The final results were presented to provincial and national stakeholders in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy and Finance and contributed to the formulation of the new HSSP (2008 2015).
  • IDPOOR evaluation: BNC conducted a rigorous evaluation of the IDPOOR program for the World Bank. This program was aimed at developing a general protocol for identifying the poor. In order to evaluate this program, BNC interviewed Village Representative Groups, village leaders and households in 300 villages throughout various provinces of Cambodia.
Regarding study support:
  • Data entry for the ministry: BNC has provided data-entry services for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. We have entered all scholarship application of JFPR in 2004-05 into a database to conduct an impact evaluation.
  • Data entry CESSP: We have entered the data of all CESSP scholarship applicants in school year of 2005-2006 for a World Bank impact evaluation of the CESSP scholarship program.
